Switch On Concert

The most highly-anticipated event of the year in Blackpool, known as the Blackpool Illuminations Switch-On, is scheduled for Friday 29 August 2025.

Following his successful UK-wide arena tour, pop sensation Olly Murs will grace the stage at Blackpool’s Tower Festival Headland for a complimentary hour-long performance. Shortly after, he will have the honour of turning on the switch to illuminate six miles of lights.

Olly will be accompanied by the English rock group Toploader. With a career spanning two decades and over two million album sales across the globe, the trio behind the hit song 'Dancing in the Moonlight' has shared stages with numerous renowned artists. Their most recent performance was as opening act for James Blunt on his UK arena tour earlier this year.

Adding to the already stellar line-up is none other than X Factor victor Louisa Johnson, as well as a special presentation called 'Blackpool Introduces,' featuring a selection of top-notch local acts.

In addition, a live screening zone will be set up on the promenade for those unable to obtain tickets, giving them the opportunity to be part of an exhilarating evening of entertainment and experience the vibrant atmosphere.

Gates will open at 4pm and performances are scheduled to begin around 4.30pm.

Blackpool illuminations 2025 lights switch on this year the lights will be on for 129 nights from Friday 29th August 2025 through to Sunday 4th January 2026.
